NFF Confirms Nike As A New Kit Sponsor

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has announced that the world’s leading football brand Nike is a new kit sponsor of men’s and women’s Nigeria national football teams.
In a series of tweets posted on April 23, the NFF even revealed some details of a new deal.

In August 2014 German-based sportswear giant, Adidas officially confirmed that it would not renew the deal with Nigeria. Following the expiration of the contract in December 2014, the NFF started looking for a new kit sponsor.
AMS Kit manufacturing company was rumored to be the new kit supplier for the national football team. The company reportedly displayed their proposed design for the Super Eagles on their social media feed saying their proposal is based on news of the Super Eagles yet to get a kit supplier.

However, Ademola Olajire, the NFF spokesman, did not confirm the information about a new kit sponsor, adding that the federation was still in talks with Adidas.
“We currently are in discussions with multiple parties regarding our kit situation.
“Despite receiving a notification letter from Adidas initially, we remain confident they could still reconsider their position,” he said.
When the NFF failed to bring Adidas to the negotiating table, there were allegations that the NFF would face so-called “kitting crisis” if they didn’t get deal before the first quarter of 2015.
Luckily, the federation  finally found a new sponsor that will be developing football kits for the men’s and women’s Nigeria national football teams from April 1, 2015, until at least 2018.
