Osinbajo, Governors In Closed-Door Meeting At Aso Rock

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and state governors on Thursday, July 23, met at the Aso Rock villa to hold a closed-door meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC).
According to The Nation, the meeting started around 11.am. The agenda is likely the committee report on incomes and spending from the Excess Crude Account and the NNPC account from 2012 till the end of the immediate past administration. Another possible point of discussion could be the option of bailout for states owing workers’ salaries.
 
The committee set up during the previous NEC meeting includes governors Nasir el-Rufai, Adams Oshiomhole, Emmanuel Udom and Ibrahim Dankwambo.
The meeting is said to still be in progress, with more details expected later.
Meanwhile President Muhammadu Buhari has returned from his 4-day US trip in the course of which the issues of economic and anti-terrorism cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
