According to the latest reports, the number of deaths in the Zaria bomb blast on Tuesday, July 7, has increased to 25 people, including a two-year-old child. The bomb explosion affected the following areas of Kaduna state: the Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Saminaka and Birnin Gwari. At least 32 people sustained serious injuries and currently being treated at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital.

During his speech at the scene of the attack El-Rufai urged the people of Kaduna State to stay vigilant and promptly report all suspicious persons and activities to the security agencies and community leaders.
Extra security measures are now taken across the state. Meanwhile no terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the blast but it is believe to have been carried out by the Boko Haram group.
