The United States is already providing help providing aid to Chad, Niger and Cameroon worth about $34 million, aimed at financing logistics and equipment needed in fighting Boko Haram. Thus the total amount of financial assistance to the joint anti-Boko Haram force will be about $39 million. Additional $5 million funding will be transferred via the African Union.
At least one suicide bomber who is considered to be Boko Haram member attacked the Police Headquarters in the capital of Nigeria’s neighbour Chad, N’Djamena.
Reports also say that one of bombers attacked the police academy where a graduation ceremony was going on. At least 30 cadets were reportedly killed.
At the same time, Nigerian Army has said that scores of “heavily-armed” Boko Haram insurgents using women and children as shields died during the attack on Babangida in Yobe state.
