
The IGP had a quiet Thanksgiving Mass at the Police House Chapel, which is also his residence to thank God for his blessings. The service was led by Cardinal John Onaiyekan.
He is Nigeria’s 18th IGP , the position he was appointed after former President Goodluck Jonathan sacked his former boss Suleiman Abba.
Arase holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Law, as well as Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science and Strategic Studies.
He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Meanwhile, the IGP has pleaded with Nigerians to help fight corruption in the Nigerian Police force by using their smart phones to record officers who engage in corruption, bribery and bad conduct.
