The G-7 nations include Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, and the United States. The newly elected Nigerian president was invited by world leaders to attend the summit, with insecurity being the main agenda of the meeting.

On June 8, Monday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel warmly welcomed the Nigerian politician. G7 leaders held a special session on countering extremism in Africa and the Middle East, BBC reports.
Merkel is expected to hold a news conference on the meeting outcome at 13:30 (Nigerian time).
Buhari has been pictured together with world top leaders, including US President Barack Obama, UK’s Prime Minister David Cameron and others.
