The outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan today May 27, attends his last Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting as Nigeria’s President.
The FEC includes the President as chief, Vice President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, ministers, special advisers to the President, Head of Civil Service of the Federation and the National Security Adviser.

It is the highest decision-making body in the country. Members of the council meet every Wednesday to accept contracts and other administration policies.
President Jonathan thanked Nigerians for the opportunity to serve Nigeria via his Facebook official page.
He said: “Today, I presided over the valedictory session of the Executive Council of the Federation of which it has been my privilege to chair these past four years. I thank God. I thank all those who served with me. I thank Nigerians for the opportunity to serve my country. May God bless Nigeria. GEJ.”
He used the meeting as a farewell session to thank council members for their support during his tenure.

President Jonathan will be handing over to the president-elect Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, Friday, so this was the last time he was chairing the meeting.
