Eyitayo Agbo is a two-year-old with a hole in her heart.
The ailment started six months after she was born. Agbo, who finds it difficult to breathe and sleep, has been growing in pains because of the condition.
The only hope for Agbo is for her to be flown to India for a heart surgery and medics say she needs no fewer than N1.6m to cater to her treatment.
Unfortunately, her father, Segun, and mother, Juliana, are poor traders, who are merely struggling to survive.
Efforts to gather the sum in the last 18 months to enable them to take her overseas for treatment have failed.
Juliana said she had to quit her job to enable her take care of her ailing daughter. Besides, the family, according to her, have been selling their properties to be able to take care of her.
Again, Juliana said her husband’s business had collapsed as the goods he had in his shop were sold below the cost price to enable him to raise money for the child.
She, therefore, is calling on well-meaning Nigerians to assist them with funds for their daughter’s surgery in India.
“She has stunted growth and gets tired easily; her eyes are always red. The doctors have advised that the operation be carried when she is still very young, else the problem might not be easily corrected when she is older. I hope compassionate Nigerians will come to the family’s assistance,” she said.
