new manager Guus Hiddink to re-sign one of Chelsea’s former
strikers back to Stamford Bridge, Daily Star reports.
Romelu Lukaku was signed by Chelsea in 2011. However, he made only 10 appearances for the Blues without scoring. He spent most of his Chelsea contract on loan with West Bromwich and Everton. In 2014 he joined Everton permanently. He has scored 23 times in 54 appearances for the club.
According to the rumours, Drogba is expected to return to Chelsea shortly in a coaching role and is still in close contact with Lukaku who could cost Hiddink’s side £32 million.
The source reports that Drogba feels that Lukaku could prove the perfect replacement for Diego Costa, who has struggled for form this season and was booed by some supporters following Jose Mourinho’s departure.
