The Portuguese was given his fourth European golden shoe award in a ceremony on Tuesday for being Europe’s highest goalscorer over a season, ahead of Lionel Messi who scored 43 goals.

Ronaldo won his first European golden boot with Manchester United in 2008 and his other two with Real Madrid who he has been with for six years now.

The likes of Thierry Henry, Francesco Totti, Diego Forlan, Luca Toni have won the European golden boot in the past. Ronaldo shared the golden boot with Luis Suarez in 2014 after they both scored 31 goals.
