Ahead of the burial rites of the Ooni of
Ife, Oba Sijuwade Okunade, that is expected to mark the final rite of
passage of the late monarch, the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has
warned its students to stay on campus and those off campus to
remain indoor.
The burial rite is expected to take place on Wednesday, August 12, between 9am and 4pm. and residents are advised to stay in-doors while the Oro cult perform the rites.

OAU through a circular sent to student and signed by its acting dean of students’ affairs, Dr Mrs L M Durosinmi, warned students to stay on campus and those staying outside campus to stay in-door.

In a related development, it was reported that there was panic in Osun state as the transition rites being performed on late Ooni claimed to suffer a set back when an important ingredient needed for the burial was said to have been missing.
