A Transportation Ministry spokesman said the plane lost contact with Oksibil's airport nine minutes before it was supposed to land.
Indonesia's national agency for search and rescue, Badan SAR Nasional (BASARNAS), said on its official Twitter account that the search has been suspended for the night and will resume at 6 a.m. local time.
