Yusuf Buhari has joined his father President Muhammadu Buhari and Senate President Bukola Saraki to offer Sallah prayers at the National Mosque Abuja.

Nigeria and the whole world are celebrating Sallah which is the end of 30-days Ramadan.
It should be noted that Buhari in his Eid-el-Fitri message emphasized that if Ramadan’s main lessons of self-denial and sacrifice are embraced, it would serve the country well as his administration strives to overcome present challenges, undo the damage done by years of bad governance and accelerate the pace of national ‎development.

It is the first time when Saraki and Buhari were spotted together since the crisis rocked the ruling All Progressives Congress over the leadership of the National Assembly.
The sources said that President Buhari has refused another series of moves by Bukola Saraki to hold a formal meeting with him.

New details emerge over the meeting of President Muhammadu Buhari and his American counterpart Barack Obama on July 20.
Nigerian Pilot reports that US President is planning to discuss same-sex marriage with Buhari during his visit to White House.
Linda Thomas-Greenfield, American assistant secretary of state for African affairs, made this known on July 13, during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington DC.

She stated that they would continue to compel Nigeria to authorise gay marriage.
Thomas-Greenfield said: ”As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody. As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria, as well as other governments who have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community.”
”This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them. So, we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their sexual orientation”.
The White House announced in a statement that Obama would host Presidentr Buhari in a symbolic show of solidarity, during which they would discuss on fighting Boko Haram insurgents as well as economic and political subjects.
Buhari To Visit One Of The Most Respected World Leaders
President Buhari has said his visit to USA will strengthen the ties between the two countries.
It should be also noted that Supreme Court of USA on Friday, June 26, ruled that same-sex couples can marry nationwide, establishing a new civil right and handing gay rights a historic victory.

President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Nigeria on July 19 with an official entourage of 33 people including his son Yusuf.
Nigeria’s ambassador to the US, Professor Ade Adefuye has given a brief on Buhari’s four days stay in America.
Adefuye said the visit was important on many fronts because Nigeria and the US remain partners on many fronts.
He said America accepts Nigeria as an emerging economic giant not just in Africa but in the world, and that this is the first time the US has invited a newly elected African president who has been in office for less than two months to a state visit.

The Nigerian ambassador said that President Buhari “has what it takes to drive this emerging role of Nigeria and I am glad to receive him on this historic visit. The expectation that President Buhari will reposition the nation along the path of greatness is not misplaced.”
He added:“the importance of the visit is in the fact that the US is accommodating President Buhari at Blair House, the first of its kind for a Nigerian leader and at no expense to the country.”
One of the most important parts of the visit is the long awaited lecture of the Nigerian president at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) on his last day in America.
President Buhari will be accompanied by Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Adams Oshiomhole, Kashim Shettima, Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi, Godwin Emefiele, Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Hadi Sirika, Ambassador Paul Bulus Z, Ambassador Ayodele Oke, Alhaji Aliyu Ismaila, Ambassador A.A. Musa, Ambassador G.B. Igali, Aliyu Yahaya Gusau, Dr. Mahmud Mohammed, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Ismaila Isa Funtua, Mr. Femi Adesina and Dr. Suhayb Sanusi Rafindadi.
Also on the entourage are Malam Garba, Mohammed Sarki, Kalu Abba-Snr, Ambassador Lawal A. Kazaure, Air Commodore N. B. Bali, Nura Rimi, Bashir Abubakar, Lt. Col. M. Lawal Abubakar, Abdulkarim Dauda, Yau Abdullahi and Sabiu Yusuf.
Others are Yusuf Maiyaki, Adamu Sambo, Emmanuel Anrihi, Bayo Omoboriowo, Baba Ujah, Lawal Mato-Snr, Gbenga Folagbade and Shehu Lawal Abubakar.
Obama To Host Buhari As A Personal Guest
It had been reported that the Nigerian leader will include in his special team only five governors.
The former president Jonathan during his visit to the USA was also accompanied by a 30-man delegation.
Insecurity, terrorism and trade relations are included at the top of Buhari’s agenda.
The US government has recently hinted of its intention to make another demand on Nigeria to repeal its law against same-sex unions.

RM: I really wasn’t surprised just based on what kind of an actor he is and the work we’ve seen from him before, but when I first signed onto the project, it was when Jake was first starting to box, and I went and met him and our director, Antoine [Fuqua], at the gym where Jake was training and he had a big bushy beard and a ponytail. I think he was wearing a sweatshirt and jogging pants. Then, when I first showed up on set [weeks later] on day one, he was in the middle of shooting that first fight in the stadium. Antoine sent me up there, he said, “OK. Go up there as Maureen,” and I wasn’t expecting it. I was just showing up for a costume fitting. I wasn’t dressed up at all. I didn’t have my extensions in. I didn’t have my nails done. No spray tan. Nothing. I was so unprepared and it was just amazing to walk from the back of that stadium towards and get closer and closer to that ring and see him emerge and see up close just what he had done – not just the physical transformation but even his emotional shift was so palpable. He had become this person on a cellular level. So really extraordinary. Very awe-inspiring.

Hello all you readers, you long-time fans, you complete strangers. Hello friends, frenemies, casual acquaintances, people who are still trying to figure out whether they like me or not.

I've tried being aloof.

I've tried just writing and hoping you'd come and read. I built it. Some people came, but not enough to pay for the popcorn, if you know what I'm saying.

I've tried to be entertaining. I've tried to be friendly. I've been bluntly honest, sometimes to the point of cruelty.

I've been human, and I suppose that's all I can be.

For the past two years, I've BEEN Helena. I mean, I've been writing as Helena, I've been living my online life as Helena. If I'd been living in my meatspace life the way I have in my online life, I'd be eligible for gender reassignment (no offense to anyone going through gender reassignment).

It's been exhausting, and I am not in the mood to talk about all that right now, just to say that Helena is not me. Or rather, she's not all that I am. The lines are blurry, sure, but she's served her purpose and now it's time for me to reclaim my life and let Helena become what she truly is -- a character, a name.

It will be transitional, of course. I'm just spread so thin -- multiple Facebook pages, multiple websites, I can't keep up anymore. So I'm embracing it all and rolling it all together.

You're going to see some changes, and I'm going to share a ton of stuff with you, bit by bit. It's going to take a while, so don't think you're going to come back tomorrow and everything will be different.

I've been challenged to Be Real.
