Topic: 45-year-Old Pastor Confesses He Steals From Different Churches In Lagos (Read 4460 times)

45 year pastor Tope Kolawole pictured above has been arrested by the Lagos state Police command after a failed attempt to rob a church in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos state on March 31st.

According to the Lagos state Police command spokesperson, Kenneth Nwosu, the suspect, Pastor Tope, who until his arrest specialized in breaking into churches and stealing music instruments, wall clocks, offering and tithe, had gone to the said church where he robbed them of their amplifier, two music mixers, one keyboard, one stabiliser, two DVD players and one Samsung plasma 32 inches television and was about to run away with the stolen item when he was nabbed.

Confessing to the crime, Pastor Kolawole said
Quote
“I specialise in stealing from churches. I steal music instruments. I have a receiver and buyer known as Alausa. Without him, I would not have gone to churches to steal. When he heard that I have been arrested, he went into hiding. I steal in the churches I worship to avoid suspicion. I have been succeeding except this one. I was remanded in Kirikiri prison by Task Force from Alausa for hawking on the highway. I am a qualified pastor because I went to theological school and was ordained pastor in 2008 at Ile-Ife by Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) but I worship at Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at any of their parishes. It is the devil that caused my frustration that made me to steal in the house of God. My wife Bunmi is a nurse with children. I live in Sango and go to Lagos to operate because Ogun is good for hiding after operation. It was what the Task Force did to me that made me to become a thief because they made me lose everything I had got in 10 years. I used to gather items at about 10:30pm and by 5am, I go to nearby road to look for taxi to take me to Oshodi. Where the taxi driver is in doubt, I call Alausa who claims to be the General Overseer of a particular church I once stole from. He is the one that pays the taxi driver once I deliver the goods. I am now a born again; if I am released, I will open a church and appoint those suspects elders of my church. We will not rob again but work for God.”

The world is growing and you grow along with it, it seems. Because a Manhattan judge has given permission for divorce papers to be filed through Facebook.
Ellanora Baidoo got married to Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku in 2009. The pair both hail from Ghana, and their marriage has been anything but conventional.

According to the New York Daily News, the marriage hit the rocks when Victor went back on a promise to hold a traditional wedding in Ghana. The union never got consummated, and the couple have never lived together as well.
Victor has gone AWOL since, only getting in touch with his wife via phone and Facebook.
Baidoo, a nurse, thus filed for divorce. But her husband cannot be found anywhere, forcing the judge to approve the unconventional serving papers through Facebook.
The ruling, from the Manhattan Supreme Court, read in parts…
“Plaintiff (Elannora Baidoo) is granted permission serve defendant with the divorce summons using a private message through Facebook”
“This transmittal shall be repeated by plaintiff’s attorney to defendant once a week for three consecutive weeks or until acknowledged”
The messages would be handled by her lawyer, using her account.
According to the lawyer, the first message has already been sent to Victor, with no response received yet.
Victor Sena Blood-Dzraku, seen in a Facebook photo, apparently has no fixed address and has only kept in touch with his wife by phone and the social networking site.

President elect, Muhmmadu Buhari, has asked Nigerians not to expect him to perform miracles once he assumes power come May 29th. Gen Buhari said this while speaking on the war against Boko Haram in an interview with BBC. According to Buhari, the triumph against the sect members would not be immediately achieved once he gets into power but said with cooperation from Neighboring countries and the commitment of the military, the war would be won in a short time

“For five, six years, the Nigerian enforcement law agencies, including the military, couldn’t secure 14 Local Governments. How can I promise miracles when I come? But with the cooperation of our neighbours Cameroon, Chad, Niger and the international community, and the commitment we are going to get from the military, I think it will take us a much shorter time to deal with it”, he said.

Topic: 38-Year-Old Man Arrested For Murder Over Girlfriend Disagreement (Read 4072 times)

Monday Ekwekuba, 38, has been arrested by the Lagos state Police command for killing 26-year-old student, Wisdom Okafor in Ojokoro, Lagos, following a disagreement over the victim's closeness to his girlfriend.

Punch reports that the suspect Ekwekuba had visited his girlfriend on March 22nd and met Wisdom in her house. He accused the deceased of having an affair with his girlfriend and out of anger, picked up a stick and smashed it on Wisdom's head who took to his heels but unfortunately ran into a moving vehicle where he was crushed to death.

According to Daniel, the victim's younger brother, he said his brother became friends with the lady in question after he mistakenly dialed her number. He said they were never dating.

“It was after he mistakenly dialled her phone number and they spoke that she invited him to her apartment and that was how they met. He later saw her in a nylon company where he was working to raise money for his exams. She was also working there. She was older than my brother and there was no way they could be dating,” he added.

Also speaking on the incident, his elder brother, Celestine said, "On Sunday, March 22, around 10.30pm, the police came with a lady to my house and asked for my brother. They said he was involved in a fight and had injured a man named Monday (Ekwekuba), who had been hospitalized.  I told them my brother went out to see a friend and had yet to return to the house. They said they would arrest me until I was able to produce my brother. I was detained and later they asked me to pay N10, 000 for Monday’s treatment, which I did. They then asked how I would produce my brother, and I decided to call him in their presence. His phone started ringing in the pocket of one of the policemen. The officer said the phone belonged to the man in the hospital, who had just died.

”Police reports say the girl in question later confessed that her boyfriend pursued the victim to his death. The suspect went into hiding after the incident but was later arrested. Celestine has made a plea to the police to release his brother's body for burial

“Our mother is late and our father is in the village in Enugu. He is sick, and I cannot inform him of the death of our brother because I don’t know what can happen to him.

My job has been at a standstill and they should please release the corpse to us so I can go and bury him and move on" he said. The police however say they would release his body after they receive the autopsy result on his corpse.

The first lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola in a recent interview with City Magazine went down memory lane on how she met her husband, the outgoing Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola.
Quote
"I met my husband at age 27. That was at my best friend's engagement then. I was serving and making sure everyone was okay and well taken care of, attending to people and all that. And then his father saw me and then said "I have a son and I will like you to meet my son". So I said no problem sir. He said good. My son will soon come in.

When he came, we introduced ourselves. We met. We exchanged our numbers and that was it. We took it off from there. He was cool, he looked cool-headed. He was friendly. He had no airs about him. He was a simple fellow. He was already working then as a lawyer.

He was at Sofunde, Belgore & Co. He clicked with my sisters too. He was always going to parties with them. He was bubbling with them. I didn't use to go to parties with them. Since my sisters accepted him, I had no choice but to accept him."
