Abuja – The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on Monday released the list of broadcasting stations that contravened the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting code from the beginning of electioneering campaign to date.

A statement signed by the commission’s Director/Head, Public Affairs, Alhaji Awwalu Salihu, in Abuja, said the contraventions included breaches of the rules on the broadcast of sponsored campaign materials.

Other breaches were the airing of campaign materials or programmes that promoted political parties or candidates within the 24-hour prohibited period, as well as unauthorised networking by a group of stations.

The statement said that NTA breached the sensibilities rules while AIT and NTA both breached the rules on airing sponsored materials.

According to the statement, Rima Radio, Sokoto and BSES, Ekiti defaulted on denial of access.

Also 15 stations nationwide breached the code for advertising and promoting a political party after campaigns had stopped 24 hours to election time.

The stations included  Liberty TV, Liberty FM, Karama FM, Alheri FM, NTA, AIT, Rima Radio, STV Lagos, TVC Lagos, NTV, PRTV, Jos, NTA Makurdi, Vision FM and Nigeria Info,

Others were BECOS TV, NTA Jos, Gombe Media Corporation Radio FM, OSBC TV and Freedom TV Ilesha.

According to the statement, all the stations involved had been either queried or outrightly sanctioned, according to the provisions of the Nigerian Broadcasting code.  (NAN)

A number of women, the elderly and children who were locked up by fleeing terrorists in Gwoza have been freed by troops as cordon and search along with mopping up operations continue in the town. The freed hostages some of whom are so weak are being given medical attention while others are also receiving necessary care pending the arrival and activities of aid agencies. Some of them are also providing useful information for the intelligence in aid of troops operations in the area.

In another development, a building which have been converted to a bomb making factory have been unearthed by troops in the course of ongoing mopping up operations in Gwoza. The facility which is being used for the manufacture of various calibres of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) is still being carefully evacuated of dangerous materials.

Massive destruction of infrastructure and property including blowing up bridges and burnt houses including Emir’s Palace have also been noticeable. Troops are also carefully removing land mines placed in various parts of the town.

In Bama also in Borno State, troops on routine patrol in the suburbs of the town this morning recovered a large number of rifles and various arms believed to have been abandoned by terrorists who fled the area when troops were advancing to flush them of the town recently. Bama was liberated by troops on 16 March 2015 and troops have since been dominating the town with aggressive patrols to defend it against any further terrorists activities.

Although makeup is very good as it has helped some women regain their lost confidence caused by some skin problems and accidents, some people especially men are finding the transformation caused by the beauty products very deceitful. Not that he saw anything bad in wanting to look good but the constant excessive use of makeup is a big turn off for him (and it is for many men) as it may leave him really disappointed when she finally decides to show her “real self”.


To some ladies, there is absolutely nothing like “too much makeup”; if it makes them feel/look good, they would go for it and some men feel it is cheating. They compare the use of makeup with pretending to be someone you’re not, lying to be perfect or hiding the real you behind gimmicks. No matter how much people have complained about girls going subtle when applying beauty products on their face, the “deceitful makeup” is becoming a more acceptable trend in our time. It has become the case of “if you can’t beat them, join them” as more pictures of makeup enhanced beautiful faces are everywhere on our social media timelines, walls and so on and more girls are found embracing the artificial temporary beauty than their permanent God-given one.


However rampant the makeup trend has become, it has called people to ditch using beauty as a yardstick to measure a girl’s worth especially for a relationship. Guys are now found more interested in the brains and character. After all, if ugliness and blemishes can be hidden with the right makeup products, there’s nothing that can mask a shallow brain and a terrible character. And what will it profit a girl to get a man’s attention by her makeup beauty and lose him due to lack of character and the ability to think deep?

Inside sources have revealed that Jesse Jagz is back with Chocolate City.
The singer, rapper and ace producer is the head of Jagznation, a label he founded after his exit from Chocolate City in 2013.
Now after 2 albums, Jesse is set to reunite with his friends and ex-labelmates, M.I Abaga, and Ice Prince.
Speaking with Pulse, a source close to the rapper revealed. “Jesse is reuniting with Chocolate City, a deal has been struck which would enable him return to the label.”
Jesse Jagz left Chocolate City in 2013 after being disillusioned with the progression of his career under the Audu Maikori-led label.
He further went on to drop 2 albums, Jagznation Volume 1 and 2, which has cemented his position in the country as an amazing rapper.
This year marks the 10 anniversary of Chocolate City, and according to Audu Maikori, the label has huge plans to surprise the industry. He further speculated on a union between all the Choc Boys.
One further event which has hinted on the return of Jesse Jagz, is the leak of a new single, ‘Summer Time’ which was a collaboration single between Jesse Jagz, M.I Abaga, Ice Prince, and Loose Kaynon.
Jesse Jagz's return will be announced in the coming weeks by the label which is also home to Pryse, Dice Ailes, Coker, DJ Caise, Nosa, Victoria Kimani and Femi Kuti (management).
