Topic: 10 Worst International Celebs "B**B Surgery" That Went Wrong (Read 8448 times)

These days, there is more pressure on women to look a certain way. To quote the ever fabulous Tina Fey,
Quote
“Now every girl is expected to have Caucasian blue eyes, full Spanish lips, a classic button nose, hairless Asian skin with a California tan, a Jamaican dance hall ass, long Swedish legs, small Japanese feet, the abs of a lesbian gym owner, the hips of a nine-year-old boy, the arms of Michelle Obama, and doll tits.”
The struggle is real, ladies. It’s even worse on Hollywood’s finest. Celebs are criticized for just about anything and everything. It’s no wonder these starlets felt the need for some-ahem-enhancement.  I remember the words of my grandmother which says, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Well that definitely applies to the following list.

Topic: I Didn’t Know About Stella’s Tummy Tuck That Led To Her Death – Obasanjo (Read 11359 times

A former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that he had no knowledge of his late wife, Stella’s plan to undergo the cosmetic procedure that led to her death.

Mr. Obasanjo disclosed this in his autobiography, My Watch, which was released on December 8.

The late first lady died on October 23, 2005, following a botched tummy tuck – elective liposuction – procedure in Spain. The surgery was scheduled towards the commemoration of her 60th birthday.

“After the internment, I decided to look into the circumstances of her death,” Mr. Obasanjo wrote on page 240 of Volume two of the book. “I found that part of her 60th birthday anniversary, which was unknown to me, was her operation for her tummy and her shape.”

Mr. Obasanjo also addressed the insinuations that his wife’s death may have been a “sacrifice” he carried out for success in his job.
“Before the verdict in Spain, I was unaware of what I came to hear later that I might have caused the death of my wife to sacrifice her for success in my job,” he wrote. “That is how wicked and satanic some Nigerians can be in their rumours and mischief.”

He referred to the doctor who carried out the surgery as “careless” and narrated how with the help of the Nigerian Embassy in Spain and the Spanish authorities, he got justice for his wife’s death.

“I instructed that the doctor and the clinic be prosecuted,” he said. “The lost life cannot be brought back but the successful prosecution would prevent carelessness and loss of life in the future.”

The doctor, according to the former president, was made to pay damages, which was collected by Olu Obasanjo, Stella’s son, and his licence withdrawn for a period of time.

Mr. Obasanjo was however full of praises for his wife, whom he married in 1976, four years after the formal dissolution of his first marriage.

He commended her for handling the confrontations she had with his first wife, Remi, with maturity, for accepting children he had with other women as her own, and for campaigning for his release while he was in jail as well as supporting him during his presidency.

Mr. Obasanjo said shortly before her death, Stella, who was Roman Catholic, ensured that her marriage was blessed by the church in a small private ceremony at the Aso Villa conducted by Mathew Kukah, now the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese.

According to Mr. Obasanjo, after the ceremony, his late wife thanked him and said, “You have relieved me.” Mr. Obasanjo’s book was met with controversy following its publication and launch.

An Abuja High Court had granted an exparte injunction stopping the public presentation of the book over claims the three volume series contained details of a libel case already before another court.

The case involves a drug trafficking allegation by the former president against a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Buruji Kashamu.

On Wednesday, Justice Valentine Ashi found Mr. Obasanjo guilty of contempt, after he defied his directive barring him from releasing the book.

Topic: Arrogance: See What The Daughter Of Korean Air's CEO Did To Her Staff (Read 15861 times)

The daughter of Korean Air's CEO,  Cho Yang-Ho, has been forced to apologise and resign from all her posts at her family-run airline after she forced one of their planes to return to terminal so she can kick off a cabin crew who served her nuts wrongly.

Mr. Cho’s daughter was on a Korean Air flight that had just left the gate at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport bound for the South Korea on Dec. 5 when an attendant served her macadamia nuts still in the package rather than on a plate without asking.

Sitting in first class, Ms. Cho summoned the attendant to ask a question about the airline’s policy on serving nuts. Under the carrier’s rules, passengers must be asked first before serving. But when the
man couldn't answer, furiously, Ms. Cho ordered her jet back to the gate so that she could fire and remove from the aircraft the server.

According to eye witnesses, Cho forced the cabin manager Park Chang-Jin and attendant to kneel in front of her, calling Park names, pushing him into the cockpit door and jabbing him with a service manual.

Cho's behaviour sparked fierce criticism in South Korea, where she has been accused of being petty and arrogant. The transport ministry and Seoul prosecutors even launched investigations into whether she breached aviation safety laws and caused disruption to business.

Her father, Korean Air CEO Cho Yang-Ho had to give a televised press conference last Friday to apologise for his daughter's "foolish act". Following a Korean tradition of showing public contrition when one’s children misbehave, he said in front of a bank of cameras, at one point bowing deeply:

“Please blame me; it’s my fault. I failed to raise her properly.”

Cho Hyun-Ah today visited the homes of the cabin crew members she threw out to apologise.

Topic: Ogboni Leader List Founding Members, Says Members Attend Churches, Mosques (Read 19426 times)

A seasoned administrator and chartered accountant, Francis Oluwagbenro Meshioye, the Olori Oluwo (Supreme Leader) of the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity has said being a member does not stop members from practising religions of their choice.

In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, he explained the fraternity takes its roots from Nigerian culture.

On the negative perception of the group and what attracted him, Meshioye said: “I wanted to understand my culture, to know why I am here. Why was I not born in India as a Hindu or in China to embrace their culture and religion? This made me to begin to look within myself to know who I am and I extended this to what I have within my area. I am a firm believer in the Yoruba saying, ‘Animo ni peregun laso’ meaning you add to whatever you have.

“If that is the case, I wouldn’t leave what I have found within my environment to embrace other things. I do embrace other things, mind you, but I believe that there is something we inherited from our source. I wanted to know why I am a Nigerian, a Yoruba man, what is my culture like and what is wrong with it amongst other things.

“Aside these, I wanted to know God my own way because if you know God and His laws, you will be a better human being. Thereafter, I realised that what I wanted was in my immediate environment. I looked at my culture and realised that it is very useful to realise my oneness with God. Our culture does not cast aspersion on any other and I found out in the Bible – I was raised a Christian – ‘Thou shall not judge’. The bible also says ‘search all things, find out the one that is true and hold on to the truth.’ So, I looked at everything and opted for Ogboni. Incidentally, Ogbonism does not prevent you from going to the church or the mosque.”

Affirming that one was free to engage in religous activities, he stated that: “Ogbonism does not prevent you from doing whatever you want to do. It is about understanding our culture which guides in living a better life and improving the society. These were the things that prompted me to go into our culture. I wasn’t particular about Ogboni but it satisfied my urge of knowing what we have in our culture to assist in living a better life, a respectable life. I love to be respected and I love to respect people and I like to be a noble character.

“I had the same line of thought about Ogboni as the public before I joined. When I was contemplating joining, I had nobody to direct me because you don’t see them easily but I had heard about them; so I said if they are bad I will leave. I later found somebody who introduced me to a member and during the period before induction, they were observing me but I was also observing them. They love each other and are respectable people; so I got interested and got glued to it. I found out that it is excellent and what I had been looking for.”

On the criteria for joining the fraternity, the Leader said: “You must be known by someone who is a member because we want people of good character. You must have a sponsor who will attest to your good character. You must be an adult according to the laws of the land; you must have a verifiable source of livelihood and you must be industrious.

“You apply and your letter will be sent to the state where your sponsor lives; you will be investigated, apparently without your knowledge. If you are found lacking in those key areas during the investigation period, we will tell you sorry you can’t be our member. If you don’t have any shortcomings, you come for an interview. You meet people who will discuss with you and if you are successful at the interview you are on your way to joining.”

Although Archdeacon T.A J. Ogunbiyi started the fraternity on December 18, 1914 and named it Ogboni Onigbagbo, Meshioye, in the interview, explained the name change to Reformed Ogboni Fraternity.

“At that time, there were only few Christian members in the fold but soon after its inauguration, they realised it’s not meant for Christians alone. It’s a cultural heritage and you can’t restrict heritage to religion. In Yoruba culture, we have Christians, Muslims and other faiths. That was why it was changed to Reformed Ogboni Fraternity to accommodate people of different religious leanings, race and political affiliation. It is incorporated and recognised under Nigerian law.

“Our past leaders include Sir Adeyemo Alakija, who was the first Olori Oluwo and he was followed by Sir Adetokunbo Ademola. We have had members including Chief Oladeinde Lawson, the late Archbishop Vining, Reverend David Mellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe, the Sardauna, Ahmadu Bello, and Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola amongst others.”

On the difference between Aboriginal and Reformed Ogboni, the Leader explained that there are in fact three types of Ogboni.

“There is Ogboni Ilu, the governing council of a town. In Yorubaland, the governing system in any reputable town is Ogboni Osugbo. So, we have Ogboni Ilu, Ogboni Aboriginal and the Reformed Ogboni Fraternity. However, the major difference between Reformed Ogboni Fraternity and the others is that it focuses on the core principles and tenets of Ogbonism without tilting to the right or left.”

On the forthcoming centenary centenary celebration of the fraternity on December 18, Meshioye said he hopes people will have a proper understanding of what Ogboni is from the perception of the ROF.

Topic: Muslim Extremists Holds Over 30 People On Hostage In a Sydney Cafe (Read 2973 times)

Two female hostages have managed to break free from the Lindt cafe in Martin Place, Sydney, where an Islamic extremist is holding dozens of hostages - bringing the number of escapees to five. Earlier, three men scrambled a few metres from a fire escape toward heavily armed tactical police, who kept their weapons pointed toward the café as they directed the men to get behind them to safety. The men, one of whom wore a long black barista's apron looked clearly terrified as they fled. At least one suspect carrying a shotgun, a machete and possibly an explosive device entered the Lindt cafe in Sydney's Martin Place about 9.45am on Monday. Staff and customers sobbed as they were forced to hold a black flag - believed to be that of an Islamic extremist group - up against the window. The text on the flag was partially translated as: 'There is no God but Allah.' TV reports showed a man wearing a black headband with white text on it moving inside the café. A Lindt staff member could be seen with her hands held against the window and her eyes closed.

Topic: Lovers Get In Here, Checkout Seven Health Benefits Of Kissing (Read 7299 times)

Next time she denies you a kiss, read her these benefits of a kiss and she will gladly oblige:

Kissing Prevents Cavities
Who would ever guess that spit-swapping kinda had the same effect as mouth wash? According to the Academy of General Dentistry, saliva helps build tooth enamel and all that extra saliva built up in a tongue-tangling Frencher washes the bacteria off your teeth, which in turn helps break down oral plaque.

Kissing Burns Calories
We wouldn’t recommend giving up that hour at the gym, still, locking lips is a serious workout for your face. Experts estimate that one minute of passionate kissing can burn anywhere between 2 to 5 calories.

Kissing Strengthens Your Immune System
It may sound counterintuitive, but swapping spit is a great way to fend off the common cold. Research published in Medical Hypotheses suggests that kissing is actually an evolutionary adaptation to protect against the cytomegalovirus. And if you suffer from allergies, a kiss from your partner can keep you strong. A study published in Physiology & Behavior proved that kissing can improve your resistance to having an allergic reaction. Researchers studied 60 people with skin or nasal allergies. They all spent 30 minutes in a private room kissing their spouse while listening to romantic music. They asked another group to do the same, but hug — no lip-locking allowed. The results? The researchers concluded that the kissing reduced their allergic reactions.

Kissing Lowers Your Stress Level
Sensuality — from kissing to touching to … well, you know — keeps us relaxed. To test the theory, researchers from the Arizona State University asked 52 people to spend six weeks making kissing a priority in their everyday lives. By the end of the test period, not only did they feel closer to their significant others, but they were significantly less stressed based on a psychological stress scale.

Kissing Reduces Blood Pressure
All that heart-racing lip-smacking is healthy for your ticker. Research shows that kissing dilates your blood vessels and therefore, helps reduce blood pressure.

Kissing Relieves Pain
Kissing releases all kinds of natural feel-good chemicals in the body and these endorphins have proven to be even more powerful than morphine to relieve pain. Specifically, research published in the online medical journal PLoS One found that these hormones are akin to the benefits of a pain reliever.

Kissing Gives Your Brain & Body A Boost Of Happy Chemicals
There’s nothing that unwinds you more than melting in the arms of someone you love … and those butterflies-in-your-stomach feelings you get from a swoonworthy kiss just sets you into paradise, right? There’s a science behind that. Kissing stimulates the release of oxytocin (the “love hormone”), endorphins and dopamine, which all mix together as a cocktail for health! After all, these chemicals boost your mood and your libido, proving that all that lovin’ is just what the doctor ordered.
