Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria dies In Abuja

The Sudanese ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Tagelsir Ali, has died. The Media Advisor to the Sudanese embassy in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Abdulrahman, who confirmed his death told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, that Dr Ali died in the early hours of today October 24th at the National Hospital, Abuja where he was being treated for malaria.

“He had malaria. There were some complications and he passed away around 1 a.m. early this morning. There is a Presidential jet coming by 5 p.m. to take the remains to Sudan for burial. He was 66 years old. He loved working in Nigeria and had zeal to develop the bilateral relationship between Sudan and Nigeria and was able to stretch himself very well,” Abdulrahman said. May his soul rest in peace Amen

Building collapse: T.B Joshua to appear before coroner Nov. 5th

Prophet T.B Joshua will on Nov. 5th face the Lagos State coroner investigating the circumstances that led to the collapse of the church 5-storey building which killed 115 people.

At a sitting which held today Oct. 24th, the coroner, Magistrate O.A. Komolafe said it was mandatory the man of God and the contractor that handled the building project appear before him to give their own account of what led to the building collapse, a position the defense counsel argued against but was objected by the coroner

"We have heard that he has been addressing the press at various times. Let him come and address the court. The court has summoned him; let him come and tell us what he knows. He cannot sit over there and be sending words to us that he cannot come. The court has said that for the purpose of what we're doing that he should come over.” the coroner said

Gunmen kidnap Deziani Alison-Madueke’s sister in Port Harcourt

There are reports that gunmen on Wednesday Oct. 22nd kidnapped the younger sister of Petroleum Minister, Deziani Alison-Madueke. Osio Agama was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Port Harcourt and taken to an unknown destination. The kidnappers are yet to make contact with the family.

Diamond Bank CEO/GMD resigns to pursue political ambition

Mr Alex Ottih (pictured left), the Chief Executive Officer & Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank resigned his position as GMD of the financial institution today Oct. 24th to pursue his political ambition. He plans to run as governor of Abia state in next year's general elections.

The bank's board have appointed the Deputy Group Managing Director of the bank, Uzoma Dozie (pictured right) as its new Chief Executive Officer.

There are so many scars on my body, especially my back and it's all thanks to my boyfriend. We have been dating for about nine months but I am beginning to be sick of having sex with him. Meet the four children of late insurance guru, Dr Remi Olowude

The Insurance industry was thrown into mourning mood when the news of Dr Remi Olowude was announced, late September 2014. Dr. Oluremi Olowude until his death, was a man of great diversity. Apart from being the Executive Vice Chairman of multimillion Naira insurance company, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI), which is arguably the biggest private insurance business in Nigeria, he had his hands in so many other businesses. He was a member of the Board of Directors of British International School (BIS) and First City Group. Some of his other positions before he passed on, include Chairman Orbital Computer Limited, Monarch Communications Limited, to mention a few.

He died at the age of 62 in a US hospital on September 28th, 2014 after a battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his wife Olubunmi and four children. Meet the children after the cut...

Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr Okey Wali, who was kidnapped on Oct 11th in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen, (read here) has been released. According to a statement released today and signed by the current President of the NBA, Mr Augustine Aleghe, Mr Wali was released around 11pm last night after spending 13 days in captivity.

The statement did not state where Mr Wali was released and if any ransom was paid for his release.

For those who believe in things like this...Nigerian Tribune is reporting that a baby was born recently in Oyo state clutching a pocket-size Qur’an (pictured above).

The baby, who has since been named Ismail, was born in a church at the Oniyanrin area of Ibadan in September, the reports states. A renowned Islamic preacher who the newspaper spoke with said the woman who delivered the baby threw away the object she found in the baby's hand thinking it was something devilish, only for them to later find out it was a pocket-size Qur’an which contained all the 114 chapters in the holy book. It was wrapped in a thread. The preacher said although the Qur’an was small, the lettering inside was readable.

A US doctor based in New York who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea has become the first person in the city to test positive for Ebola. 33 year old Dr. Craig Allen Spencer (pictured above) had been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea, and returned to NYC on October 17th. He tested positive to the virus the Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan New York yesterday October 23rd.

He and three other people he had contact with in recent days, including his girlfriend have been placed in isolation at the Bellevue hospital. He's officially the 4th person to test positive on American soil.

Photo: Girl's ear bitten off during fight with neighbour in Lagos

A Lagos State Polytechnic student named Bola had her right ear bitten off by her neighbour during a fight this past Monday October 20th at her residence in Ikorodu. According to an eye-witness to the fight, the other lady allegedly hid the ear in her mouth for a few minutes after biting if off. She then spit it out and stepped on it as people were looking for it. Anyway, she was later arrested and the case is now being handled by the police at First Gate in Ikorodu. Bola is recovering at the hospital.

Court nullifies NFF election, sacks chairman and his executives

A Federal High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau state today October 23rd nullified the September 30th general election of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, which saw Mr Amaju Pinnick elected as the President of the NFF.
