 The video titled, ‘APC – A Satanic Party’ was posted on video-sharing website YouTube by ‘Archbishop Samson Mustapha Benjamin’, the General Overseer of Lagos based ministry Resurrection Praise Ministries International, popularly known as ‘Jehovah Sharp-Sharp’. In it, a man he alleges to be Hon. Olusola Israel Adekunle, the local government chairman of Alimosho, Lagos, is seen stark naked in a swampy area sitting on a horse. He is heard muttering some unintelligible words before pouring a reddish substance all over him which the cleric described as ‘human blood’. The video was preempted by an article on a Nigerian blog several months ago, revealing that during the ‘ritual’, Hon Adekunle had placed curses on his political enemies while appealing for favour in the eyes of the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. In his comments, ‘Archbishop’ Benjamin alleges that the same ritual has been undertaken by all prominent members of APC, describing the political party as ‘satanic’. “Has Papa E.A Adeboye of RCCG allowed Pastor Prof. Yemi Osibanjo go through the same ritual process or will he allow him to do it,” the cleric then ponders, insisting that although Adeboye is his spiritual father, he has permitted politics to compromise his Christian faith. There are reports by people in the know that Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi is building a mini estate in the Ajah/Badore new development area of Lagos. Mikel and his partners (including a bank) are planning to build over 100 housing units of 2/3/4bedroom service apartments, a multipurpose hall and recreational facilities. The estate will be called Chelsea Estate and construction has already begun.

 Dame Patience Jonathan, the First Lady, has criticized the scmolesting of the office of the First Ladies, arguing that ” First Ladies have made profound contributions to the development of Nigeria” Punch reports. Mrs. Jonathan disclosed this in Umuahia, Abia State on Friday December 26, while speaking at the grand civic reception in her honour by her maternal kinsmen of the Ohuhu clan. She stated that the bid by politicians from the opposition party to scrap the office of the First Lady would amount to sending the Nigerian women back to the kitchen if such came to fruition, adding, “It is not our portion to go back to the kitchen”. She added, “We have women that are capable. We can contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria.” She explained that contrary to opinions and wrong impressions by some people, First Ladies play essential roles in moving the country forward, adding that those behind the call might not have appreciated the good parts being played by First Ladies. However the wife of the President recalled that she through her office she has touched the lives of many Nigerian women and youths, adding that many governors’ wives have also affected lives in their various states through the same office. She insisted that First Ladies all over the world play supportive roles which she noted, were very relevant for the successes recorded by their husbands. Mrs. Jonathan made these remarks in response to a proposition by Gen Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC to scrap the office of the First Lady if voted into office as Nigeria’s President on the basis that the constitution of Nigeria makes no provision for the office. |

 The Indonesia airliner flying from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board has gone missing. Flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control at 06:24 local time (23:24 GMT Saturday) over the Java Sea. The plane, an Airbus A320-200, disappeared midway into the flight of more than two hours from the city of Surabaya. No distress call was made. The popular Nigerian Pastor told his congregation on Sunday December 28, that he foresaw the incident before it occurred. “…When I told you people that the Asia country, particularly I mentioned Indonesia; pray, be careful, the nature of the geographical atmosphere there, the weather there; they should capture the weather with prayer.” He added: “I’m seeing a balloon lose control, and the whole people there died”. However, in reaction to the claim, the outspoken diplomat wondered how Joshua could predict the ‘missing jet’ incident but couldn’t forecast the accident that occurred at his church premises some months back. |

According to PUNCH report, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ijede Police Station, Nwaoha Uzoma, has died. Uzoma’s corpse was found in his office on Thursday, a day after he entered and locked himself in. PUNCH gathered that after he did not pick his calls, anxious relatives and policemen in the station broke the door open and saw his lifeless body on the floor. Uzoma, a Superintendent of Police, was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, in the Ikorodu area, early in December. The deceased, who was married with children, was in his fifties, it was learnt. A police source told PUNCH, “The DPO was posted from Anthony to Ijede around December 5. At that time, he had an illness, which was not very serious. He was a friendly man who could sometime become angry and that’s when you offend him. But once he showed his anger and you begged him, he forgave and that would end it. “On the day of the incident, he entered his office and shut himself in. People didn’t suspect anything because he sometimes slept there. People didn’t see him come out throughout that day and then the next day, they called his phone repeatedly but he didn’t pick it. That was how people became suspicious and broke the door. They found his corpse on the floor.” The police were said to have evacuated the corpse and deposited it in a private mortuary. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, while confirming the incident on Sunday, said, “On December 25, at about 8am, SP Nwaoha Uzoma, was found dead in his office at the Ijede Police Station. His corpse was removed and deposited at St. Raphael Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
